Num segundo momento, analisar\u00e1 o discurso dos modernistas que redescobriram as cidades e se interessaram pela preserva\u00e7\u00e3o do patrim\u00f4nio, o que tamb\u00e9m despertou o interesse tur\u00edstico. Trata-se de uma abordagem hist\u00f3rica do processo, utilizando principalmente a narrativa proposta por Walter Benjamin. O discurso em torno da cidade hist\u00f3rica mineira produziu diferentes impress\u00f5es. As assim denominadas foram consideradas decadentes e feias por alguns dos viajantes estrangeiros, no s\u00e9culo XIX. J\u00e1 os v\u00e1rios modernistas que visitaram Minas Gerais nas primeiras d\u00e9cadas do s\u00e9culo XX viram as cidades como o reduto da nacionalidade, como leg\u00edtimas exemplares da brasilidade e leg\u00edtimas representantes de um passado colonial.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section
