A cidade passou por um longo processo de legitima\u00e7\u00e3o do seu patrim\u00f4nio e ainda vem passando por um per\u00edodo de ressignifica\u00e7\u00e3o em consequ\u00eancia da apropria\u00e7\u00e3o do turismo moderno. O setor do turismo enquanto atividade econ\u00f4mica e social traz consequ\u00eancias ambivalentes \u00e0 comunidade local, essencialmente na fragmenta\u00e7\u00e3o e massifica\u00e7\u00e3o da cultura ao utilizar ferramentas de marketing que redimensionam o valor da cidade em sentido temporal e espacial. O objetivo deste trabalho \u00e9 compreender quanto o turismo cultural influencia na forma\u00e7\u00e3o do imagin\u00e1rio urbano por meio da divulga\u00e7\u00e3o das imagens da cidade. A metodologia baseia-se na an\u00e1lise semi\u00f3tica de sites e materiais gr\u00e1ficos utilizados para promover o turismo em Ouro Preto. Conclui-se que as imagens tur\u00edsticas priorizam o patrim\u00f4nio do centro hist\u00f3rico da cidade e negligenciam os significados dos bairros perif\u00e9ricos os quais seriam essenciais para o entendimento da cultura local para a comunidade e para os pr\u00f3prios
