O Programa Nacional de Municipaliza\u00e7\u00e3o do Turismo e o conseguinte Plano Nacional do Turismo, implementados a partir do ano de 1994, tiveram, dentre as suas inten\u00e7\u00f5es, o prop\u00f3sito de constituir a intera\u00e7\u00e3o de arranjos produtivos locais para fins de inova\u00e7\u00e3o e diversifica\u00e7\u00e3o dos produtos tur\u00edsticos ofertados no territ\u00f3rio nacional. Em Minas Gerais, as atuais regi\u00f5es tur\u00edsticas receberam a nomenclatura de Circuitos Tur\u00edsticos.\u00a0Este trabalho teve como finalidade analisar a regi\u00e3o mineira conhecida como Circuito Tur\u00edstico das Pedras Preciosas, identificando o seu atual est\u00e1gio de desenvolvimento, a partir da percep\u00e7\u00e3o de seu arranjo produtivo local de turismo. A an\u00e1lise, feita de forma descritiva, partiu de um estudo explorat\u00f3rio realizado anteriormente, que contou com a leitura e interpreta\u00e7\u00e3o de dados secund\u00e1rios e da aplica\u00e7\u00e3o do modelo de Tipologia de Arranjo Produtivo Local de Turismo, disponibilizado pelo Minist\u00e9rio do Turismo. Foram pesquisados dados s\u00f3cio-demogr\u00e1ficos gerados por \u00f3rg\u00e3os oficiais do governo; invent\u00e1rios da oferta tur\u00edstica dos munic\u00edpios do Circuito, bem como o Plano de Desenvolvimento Estrat\u00e9gico do Turismo 2011-2014 deste destino. Foram feitas tamb\u00e9m consultas diretas aos secret\u00e1rios e diretores que respondem pela pastas de turismo e conselheiros municipais de turismo das localidades pesquisadas, al\u00e9m de algumas observa\u00e7\u00f5es in loco. O resultado alcan\u00e7ado permitiu identificar que a regi\u00e3o do Circuito encontra-se no terceiro grau de desenvolvimento das atividades produtivas e de qualidade das institui\u00e7\u00f5es e dos relacionamentos. Ainda neste ponto, a falta de articula\u00e7\u00e3o e envolvimento entre os agentes do territ\u00f3rio foram apontados como principais fatores limitantes para a evolu\u00e7\u00e3o da atividade tur\u00edstica local.
